GPT-5 for Coding Cheatsheet

While I don’t use GPT for coding as much as Claude, these tips are still worth keeping in mind. It’s interesting to see OpenAI recommending XML-like tags for structuring GPT-5 instructions, whereas I tend to use Markdown with Claude. Both models have their own cues for reasoning effort, and I appreciate the detailed examples here for planning and self-reflection. Since I tend to prefer the interactive back-and-forth with AI models, it’s interesting to see their example explicitly telling the model not to ask for confirmations or clarifications.
